Associate Professor (Docent) of the Environmental and Civil Safety chair by the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies. PhD in Environmental safety.  Maksym Soroka is co-founder of the Ukrainian citizen science support network "Dovkola", full member expert of the National technical standardization committee "TC 82 - Environmental protection" and member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee working group on improving the environmental education system in Ukraine. He is author of more than 40 publications on environmental monitoring, citizen science, environmental policy and countering disinformation. He has many years of experience in the examination and implementation of R&D projects in the field of environmental safety and citizen science: "Mobilisation of Civic Initiatives to Promote Government Accountability in Eastern Ukraine", "Green Deal Laboratory of Ukraine”, «Ukrainian Air Quality Index».
