About CAELUM

CAELUM is a 2-year  Erasmus+ KA2 project in the Higher Education sector (2025-2027)

CAELUM places university libraries in the forefront of crisis response through open science, supporting vulnerable communities and bolstering EU-Ukraine cooperation.

Through a series of activities, CAELUM aims to upskill university libraries’ staff in innovative and interdisciplinary approaches to crisis response and promote and sustain university libraries-driven open knowledge and civic engagement among HE students and staff for crisis response.

Key project outcomes:

  • Collection of Resources about the current landscape of libraries roles in crises;
  • Reports offering insights from academic staff and librarians;
  • CAELUM methodology with a unified approach;
  • Action plans for implementation of case studies in libraries;
  • Training workshops;
  • Impact analysis reports; 
  • Open knowledge toolkit on lessons learnt;
  • Roadmap for university libraries with guidance;
  • Policy brief and
  • Multiplier events.
