Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST)
Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST) is a leading university in southeastern Ukraine, founded in 2021 after united of five universities of the Dnipro city. The university has more than 15000 students, 950 scientific and pedagogical workers, 6 educational and research institutes, 21 faculties, 2 research institutes, 4 testing centres and 29 research laboratories. USUST has centres for continuing education and distance learning, a centre for the development of vocational education, and a Regional Centre for Higher Education for People with Disabilities.
The Scientific Library of the USUST is one of the largest country libraries and a leader among Ukrainian university libraries in the development of open digital infrastructure for science and education. Since 2010, the library specialists are paid particular attention to advocacy of the openness movement, development of information competences and academic integrity. University Scientific Library in partnership with the chair of Environmental and Civil Safety advocates for open knowledge, including in terms of environmental protection, teaching students to work with verified open data, developing critical thinking and combating disinformation during the war in Ukraine by disseminating tools and practices of citizen science.
Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies is actively involved in didactic and research projects funded by EU funds. USUST pursues a policy of developing open science, including open educational resources, which will help to solve the issue of accessibility of information for education and research, especially for people with disabilities affected by crisis situations.

Dr. Tetiana Kolesnykova
Director of the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies Scientific Library. PhD in Social Communications, Associate Professor.
Tetiana Kolesnykova is the leader of numerous projects related to OA, OS, OER. She has published more than 100 scientific papers and developed module “Scientific Information Systems and Scientometrics” for PhD students. She is the supervisor of many research projects such as: “University library and the transformation of the scholarly communication system”, “Advocacy work of the Scientific Library to advance Open Education in Ukraine”, to name a few. She is head of the organising committee of the international conference “University Library at a New Stage of Social Communications Development” and Head of the Section of the University Libraries of the Ukrainian Library Association. Coordinator of the Ukrainian community in the European Network of Open Education Librarians (ENOEL; SPARC Europe). ‘Open Resilience Award’ from Open Education Global-2022 (USA).

Dr. Maksym Soroka
Associate Professor (Docent) of the Environmental and Civil Safety chair by the Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies. PhD in Environmental safety. Maksym Soroka is co-founder of the Ukrainian citizen science support network “Dovkola”, full member expert of the National technical standardization committee “TC 82 – Environmental protection” and member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee working group on improving the environmental education system in Ukraine. He is author of more than 40 publications on environmental monitoring, citizen science, environmental policy and countering disinformation. He has many years of experience in the examination and implementation of R&D projects in the field of environmental safety and citizen science: “Mobilisation of Civic Initiatives to Promote Government Accountability in Eastern Ukraine”, “Green Deal Laboratory of Ukraine”, «Ukrainian Air Quality Index».

Dr. Roman Rybalka
Cand. Sc. (Engineering). Assoc. Prof. at the Computer Technologies and Systems faculty. Deputy Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute “Dnipro Institute of Infrastructure and Transport” (DIIT) of Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST). Currently, responsible for communication and management. Former member of the Council on the Quality of Educational Activity (USUST), and USUST Academic Council. Actual member of the DIIT Academic Council. Participated in the “SMART HUB: Science. Authority. Business” project (initiated by the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration in 2020) as the developer of the detailed structure and requirements for a website-based solution to support the cooperation of the scientific community, businesses and communities of the Dnipropetrovsk region. (Co)author of 29 papers, 5 utility model patents, 2 research and development projects, 2 certified remote courses (for undergraduate students), and 13 education and methodical manuals.

Tetiana Shcherbatiuk
Head of the Information Technology Department of Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies Scientific Library. Her professional interests include open science and open education. Her activities are aimed at improving the library’s digital services and video content. She is engaged in advocacy for openness practices and support of the academic integrity policy at USUST. She is a member of the ENOEL community (SPARC Europe).

Savina Olha
Head of the Plagiarism Prevention and Detection Sector of the USUST Scientific Library. Prepares and conducts trainings and webinars for students on the development of information culture skills and academic integrity. Member of the working group on open knowledge events.
