Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST)

Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies (USUST) is a leading university in southeastern Ukraine, founded in 2021 after united of five universities of the Dnipro city. The university has more than 15000 students, 950 scientific and pedagogical workers, 6 educational and research institutes, 21 faculties, 2 research institutes, 4 testing centres and 29 research laboratories. USUST has centres for continuing education and distance learning, a centre for the development of vocational education, and a Regional Centre for Higher Education for People with Disabilities.

The Scientific Library of the USUST is one of the largest country libraries and a leader among Ukrainian university libraries in the development of open digital infrastructure for science and education. Since 2010, the library specialists are paid particular attention to advocacy of the openness movement, development of information competences and academic integrity. University Scientific Library in partnership with the chair of Environmental and Civil Safety advocates for open knowledge, including in terms of environmental protection, teaching students to work with verified open data, developing critical thinking and combating disinformation during the war in Ukraine by disseminating tools and practices of citizen science.

Ukrainian State University of Science and Technologies is actively involved in didactic and research projects funded by EU funds. USUST pursues a policy of developing open science, including open educational resources, which will help to solve the issue of accessibility of information for education and research, especially for people with disabilities affected by crisis situations.
